Morgan Ågren

Morgan Ågren is a Swedish drummer and composer who has made a significant mark on the international music scene with his unconventional technique and approach. A Grammy Award-winning musician on both sides of the Atlantic, he was also voted the best fusion drummer on the Modern Drummer website. His extraordinary talent was noted from an early age, having started drumming at the age of four. This led to a pivotal moment when he and his lifelong musical partner, the blind keyboardist Mats Öberg, were invited to perform with progressive rock legend Frank Zappa in the United States.

His unique style is characterized by an incredible limb independence, an offbeat sense of groove, and a versatility that allows him to move from jazz fusion to metal and experimental rock. He is particularly recognized for his mastery of polyrhythms and his sonic creativity, often using electronic percussions and effects to enrich his playing.
