Mauricio Weimar is a globally recognized Brazilian drummer and multi-instrumentalist who has redefined the boundaries of extreme metal and hybrid drumming. His career began in the underground Brazilian scene, where he gained prominence as a member of influential death metal bands such as Nephasth and The Ordher. A classically trained musician, he was also formed in violin by the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra (OSPA), bringing a unique sense of composition to his percussion work.

Since relocating to Norway in 2015, Weimar has balanced a professional teaching career at the Kvinnherad Culture School with his meteoric rise as a digital creator. Through his project Extreme Drums, he has amassed a dedicated following of over 400,000 drummers, captivating audiences with his "Extreme Metal humor" and unparalleled technical speed. In 2024, his virtuosity reached a mainstream peak as a finalist on the national television show Norske Talenter (Norway's Got Talent), where he performed high-velocity arrangements for a general audience.

Today, Weimar stands as a leading authority in the hybrid drumming revolution. He is an official artist for Varus Drums, Pearl Drums Europe, AE Hybrid Drums, and Official Drum-tec, utilizing these platforms to showcase the seamless integration of acoustic power and digital flexibility. His technical setup is further defined by his partnerships with Toontrack, Wincent Drumsticks, Footblaster, Edrummidi, and Xvive, solidifying his reputation as an innovator in modern drum technology and performance.
