The metal band Trivium announced the departure of its drummer, Alex Bent, on October 24th. An unexpected exit that occurred just before the Aftershock festival.

This "clean break" due to "different paths" necessitated a quick replacement by Greyson Nekrutman (Sepultura) for the immediate shows.

The EP "Struck Dead", released on October 31st, serves as a musical farewell to the Bent era.

Alex Rüdinger (ex-Whitechapel) is renowned for his tight, fast playing and is seen as a technical upgrade that could transform and boost Trivium's sound. The band is banking on Rüdinger's talent to bring the desired long-term stability.
