Greyson Nekrutman is an American drumming sensation whose meteoric rise has redefined the boundaries between Big Band Jazz and Extreme Metal. Initially gaining global fame for his viral performances of swing and bebop classics, he showcased a mastery of traditional grip, technical independence, and high-velocity snare work. His career took a monumental turn in 2023 when he joined the legendary crossover band Suicidal Tendencies, followed by a historic appointment in 2024 as the new drummer for Sepultura for their final global tour.

Nekrutman’s style is a rare fusion of jazz-influenced fluidity and explosive metal power, characterized by incredible linear phrasing and dynamic range. His ability to adapt to the crushing demands of thrash and groove metal while maintaining the finesse of a jazz virtuoso has made him one of the most talked-about drummers of the new decade.

To deliver the power and clarity needed for his heavy touring schedule, Nekrutman plays Pearl Drums, choosing their high-end kits. He uses Meinl cymbals for his sharp, cutting accents, and completes his setup with Vic Firth sticks and Remo drumheads. His gear choices allow him to seamlessly bring his deep traditional jazz technique into the modern metal scene.
