Dan Searle is a drummer and composer, British, especially known as co-founder and key member of the metalcore group Architects. Originally from Brighton, he formed the group with his twin brother, Tom Searle, in 2004. From their beginnings, Dan was the rhythmic engine of Architects, contributing to define their distinctive sound which mixes aggression, technical precision, and melodic depth.
Through the albums like Hollow Crown, Daybreaker, Lost Forever // Lost Together, and Holy Hell, Dan has demonstrated a constant evolution, integrating complex polyrhythms and powerful blast beats, all while ensuring a solid structure for the compositions. His playing is characterized by his cleanliness, his power, and his capacity to navigate between frenetic passages and more atmospheric moments.
After the passing of his brother Tom in 2016, Dan took an even more important part in the writing of the lyrics and the artistic direction of the group, honoring Tom's heritage all while propelling Architects towards new heights. He notably directed the composition of the albums hailed by the critics, Holy Hell and For Those That Wish to Exist, consolidating Architects' place as one of the major groups of the modern metal scene.
