Chris Turner

Chris Turner is a British drummer, known for his work with the technical metalcore band Oceans Ate Alaska (OAA). He is recognized as one of the most unique and precise musicians on the circuit. His style—a blend of frantic, aggressive playing and a solid rhythmic foundation—is a major force for OAA. Turner is globally nicknamed "The Robot" due to his impeccable accuracy in executing complex and rapid parts. He is notable for his traditional approach to recording, strictly refusing the use of triggers or aligning his work to a digital grid. His talent was widely acknowledged with the Modern Drummer "Up & Coming Drummer" award in 2017 and the Drumeo Louie Bellson Award in 2022 for his excellence in double bass drumming. He also serves as the principal composer and producer for the band.
