Blake Richardson

Blake Richardson is an American drummer, primarily known as the founding member and sole drummer of the progressive deathcore band Between The Buried And Me (BTBAM).

His playing is one of the driving forces behind BTBAM's unique sound, blending the technical aggression of death metal with the rhythmic complexity and orchestral approach of progressive rock. He is renowned for his speed, endurance, and, above all, his ability to navigate and smoothly shift tempos throughout the band's lengthy compositions.

His technique stands out due to exceptional double bass pedal control, often utilized for precise blast beats, as well as the integration of shifting and complex time signatures (or meters).

He started playing the drums very young and acquired formal training, notably at the North Carolina School of Music. His talent has been widely recognized by the specialized press; he has notably won multiple Drummer of the Year awards.

In addition to BTBAM, he has collaborated with bands like Glass Casket and has performed numerous studio sessions, consolidating his reputation as one of the most influential drummers in modern progressive metal.
